Annika Borgenhag Holmqvist
Annika Borgenhag Holmqvist grew up in an artist's home with a father who was a professional painter, which has made art and artistic expression an obvious part of Annika's life. She sold her first painting already at the age of five. Annika mainly paints acrylic on canvas but also in watercolor. The mix between color and motif is an important part of the creation, something the viewer likes to be inspired by. Annika is a trained illustrator at Mälardalen University, she draws inspiration from everyday life and often paints in large formats, preferably with unexpected light above her. Often an existential questioning is represented in her art.
Anders Borgenhag Holmqvist
Anders paints in both acrylic and oil, preferably in large formats. Anders draws inspiration from everyday life and he likes to encourage the viewer to recognize himself in these situations, but they also give the viewer the opportunity to find their own experience in the motifs.
Sammarbeten
We are both trained illustrators from Mälardalen University and have also taken preparatory art courses at folk high schools around Sweden. Annika grew up in a family of artists, where she learned the basics of painting at an early age. Anders discovered painting as an adult and then chose to train in illustration.
